As fans of the teen icon might know, Stodden has explored her talents and ambitions in a range of arts such as acting, modeling and music. In addition to that, the starlet is also a vegetarian and a devout animal rights activist, having advocated for PETA. In a video for PETA’s campaign, linked on the celebrity’s website, Stodden claims to not miss meat and talks in-depth about the vision and experience that inspires the chosen lifestyle.
The recent nude selfie released on Instagram might have sparked conversations among some people as Stodden is also a devout Christian. The question of whether the image presented feeds into leading an appropriate example for America’s teenagers is perhaps a question that some parents might be asking themselves, while others might consider it a normal progression given the trend of the times. As the world has seen in recent years, there seems to be a growing acceptance of taking the more private part of life public. A “private in public” way of life appears and elimination of taboo seems natural to some while devastating to others.
In addition to the nude selfie becoming a possible source of debate, her relationship and marriage to actor Doug Hutchison, that already has drawn criticism and controversy, might come into light again. While Hutchison was bombarded with hard critique, received death threats and fell out with some colleagues and family members, Stodden had parental support and trust to act independently. The couple then separated in November of 2013, but remain friends and colleagues. According to some of the most recent reports on the topic, the pair also remained residing together in the marital home, but in separate rooms.
An ocean of celebrity nude selfies and other revealing images has taken the internet by storm in the last few years. Some might consider that keeping the face the center of attention and luring the viewer in to the rest of the image a sophisticated method of execution.
