Season 9 of The Voice premieres tonight at 8 p.m. EST on NBC while using return of blind auditions as well as the coaches themselves making the stage.

A first-look in the premiere shows Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Pharrell, and Adam Levine singing each other's hits. Take a look:

That's Stefani covering Shelton's "Neon Lights," Shelton covering No Doubt's "Don't Speak," Pharrell covering Maroon 5's "Sugar," and Levine covering Pharell's song with Daft Punk, "Get Lucky."

Like past seasons, the premiere begins the blind auditions where coaches select singers to become listed on their teams. The twist could be the judges can't view the performers, they are able to only select them using the sound with their singing.

The spring features the return of Stefani as being a coach. She replaces Christina Aguilera, who reportedly will return for your 10th season. The show is acknowledged for rotating coaches throughout the swivel chairs as performers balance TV and touring. Past judges include Usher, CeeLoo Green and Shakira.

Carson Daly returns as host.

Season eight featured Michigan's Joshua Davis, who finished third inside the competition like a member of Levine's team.
